Each group within a database has to be set-up in advance, but each group can also support an unlimited number of sub-groups - for example, within the 'MEDIC' group there could be sub-groups for medical personnel experienced in midwifery, surgery, diseases, and toxicology. This structure enables Emergency Management Officers to contact dedicated groups of people as required to address specific situations within an emergency incident.
Using the Emergency Notification System for State and Local Governments
