Secure Cloud-based Solution Delivers Rich Building and Campus Facility Profiles with 9-1-1 Calls; Immediate Availability of Floor Plans, Key Holder and Other Critical Data Expedites Response
FRAMINGHAM, Mass., May 5, 2015 -- Rave Mobile Safety (Rave), the trusted partner for safety software protecting millions of individuals, today announced Smart911 4.0, the latest release of its award-winning platform. Foremost among the many new enhancements is Smart911Facility, which collects and manages detailed building and campus information in profiles. Easily provided through an on-line portal by the building owner or manager, a Smart911Facility profile automatically displays to a 9-1-1 call-taker or dispatcher when an emergency call originates from a landline or mobile phone within the facility boundaries. The immediate availability of these details enables faster, more precise emergency response in scenarios ranging from building fires to active-shoot incidents to evacuations and more.
"Smart911 has been a fantastic tool for providing valuable information on callers," said the Executive Director of Ottawa County Central Dispatch Authority (Mich.), Tim Smith. "Now, in addition to individual profiles that display based on a phone number, we are able to collect floor plans, emergency response plans and key contact information that automatically displays based on a caller's location, even if the individual doesn't have a Smart911 profile. We are looking forward to rolling this out with our fire and law enforcement partners here in Ottawa County Michigan."
In the event of an emergency such as a fire or active-shooter incident, information in a Smart911 Facility profile - such as a floor plan alone - can help responders quickly locate victims, evacuate personnel, shut off utility services and arrive on-scene better prepared. Immediate contact information for building owners and managers further supports response efforts. Since data is provided by facility managers through an on-line portal, the burden of managing paper-based facility records is also removed, limiting public safety's role to the simple review and approval of community-provided data. Additionally, Smart911Facility benefits the building inspection process, accelerating reviews and freeing up limited resources for other public safety activities.
Smart911Facility extends the existing Smart911 communications and additional data platform, providing 9-1-1 centers with unique capabilities to better connect with citizens, improve response times and enhance responder safety. Smart911 is quickly deployed and operates on nearly all PSAP technology combinations. From providing critical information about individuals experiencing medical emergencies, house fires and home invasions to improving close rates on open and abandoned calls, Smart911 has saved lives and averted tragedy across the country, while reducing emergency response costs. Smart911 4.0 is a free upgrade for all existing Smart911 clients.
Rave's Smart911 has long-enjoyed the support of notable industry partners and resellers that provide technology solutions for emergency response. Together, the organizations are pioneering ways to further help those in public safety to save lives. The addition of Smart911Facility is being lauded for bringing enhanced emergency response to building and campus settings.
"Cloud-based communication applications are enabling enhanced capabilities for 911 call centers," said Alan Benway, executive director - 911 product marketing management, AT&T. "Rave continues to offer innovative solutions that use AT&Ts best-in-class network and complement our 911 services to deliver value to customers."
"Smart911 4.0 is the result of close collaboration between the Rave team and our clients and partners," said Tom Axbey, CEO of Rave Mobile Safety. "We are excited to bring these capabilities to market and further enhance the ability of our partner agencies to safely and quickly respond to emergencies."
