Wayne and Illinois State Universities Among Six Institutions to Deploy Best-in-Class Mass Notification Technology to Protect and Communicate with Students, Faculty and Staff
Rave Mobile Safety, the trusted software partner for campus and public safety, today announced that six Midwest higher education institutions recently deployed its mass notification solution, Rave Alert. The new customers build upon Rave’s market leading position in higher education emergency notification systems and safety solutions, which at the close of the first six months of 2013 was marked by a 99 percent customer retention rate, deployments in 47 states, and 60 institutions choosing Rave’s technology to replace existing solutions from other vendors.
“When looking to replace the emergency notification component of our internally developed tool, we needed a mass notification solution that was proven ‘in the field’ to successfully handle emergency situations and daily communications,” said Wayne State University’s Senior Director, Enterprise Applications - Computing and Information Technology, Daren Hubbard. “Rave Alert impressed us with reliable and consistent performance and a robust management interface. More than any other solution, it allows us to reach as many people as we like as quickly as possible, and its design and features enables our campus safety team to do so easily and cost-effectively.”
Additional Midwest higher education institutions recently deploying Rave Alert include: Illinois State University, Hannibal-LaGrange University, Mid-State Technical College, Wisconsin Indianhead Technical College and Johnson County Community College.
Rave Alert provides best-in-class, highly available mass notification solutions for enterprises, school districts and institutions nationwide. Offering multi-modal broadcast messaging through email, SMS, voice, RSS, social networks and other mechanisms, Rave Alert is the most reliable method for higher education institutions to react and respond to both emergency and day-to-day communications in a systematic, cost-effective manner. In addition to Rave Alert, the company’s suite of campus safety products includes Rave Guardian, which transforms a mobile phone into a personal safety device, and EyeWitness, which allows students to confidentially text campus police about threats or issues.
“The reputation of a higher education institution is its most important asset, and campus safety is vital to ensuring that educators, students and staff are able to focus on their work,” said the President and CEO of Rave Mobile Safety, Tom Axbey. “In turn, our focus is on delivering reliable products that will give peace-of-mind and allow these communities to thrive. We now protect nearly 40 percent of the U.S. higher education population, and through partnerships with such leading institutions, we’ll continue to gain valuable feedback that will enable us to further enhance our products and set industry standards.”
