Elmore County Purchases Smart911 to Improve 9-1-1 Response


Smart911 Now Helping To Keep Citizens Safer In Idaho

Elmore County Public Safety Communications Board announced that they have contracted with Rave Mobile Safety to implement Smart911, a public safety solution that provides critical emergency  data during incoming 9-1-1 calls.  Elmore County will be first in the state of Idaho to join the rapidly expanding list of municipalities using Smart911, including Nashville TN, Lexington KY, Atlanta GA and many others across the U.S..  Smart911 allows citizens to create a free and secure safety profile (for themselves and their household) that will automatically display at participating 9-1-1 centers immediately upon placing a 9-1-1 call.

“We’re always looking for ways to improve efficiencies and 9-1-1 emergency response,” said Traci Lefever, E911 Coordinator at the Elmore County Sheriff’s Office.  “Smart911 was an obvious choice. The information provided to our PSAP will deliver insights about callers that we usually only uncover upon arriving at an emergency. We are excited to be the first municipality in Idaho to use Smart911 and encourage our citizens to sign-up immediately, to better protect themselves and their families during an emergency situation.”

“The first few hours following the abduction of a child are critical if they are to be found safely” said Senator Mike Crapo, a founding member of the Senate Missing and Exploited Children’s Caucus.

Smart911 provides citizens with the opportunity to have current photos as well as descriptions of their children in their Safety Profile.  This allows for faster dissemination of a child’s information to the field and gives a great advantage in emergency response efforts.

Citizens can provide information through, including a list of family members and pets, photos, medical conditions, home addresses of mobile phone callers, disabilities or allergies, and other rescue-related information. Smart911 then delivers this information automatically to 9-1-1 call takers at participating PSAPs. The service, which is free to citizens, enhances response and supports improved incident outcomes. The service also supports citizen demand for the ability to easily provide and manage special needs data.
