Businesses and their employees are better protected with status and location responses through Geo-polling in Rave Alert™

geo-pollFRAMINGHAM, Mass., March 13, 2018 – Rave Mobile Safety (Rave), provider of critical communication and data platform solutions trusted to save lives, announced that organizations do not need to rely on apps or static location data for real-time location of their staff or community members. Geo-polling allows customers to use Rave Alert™ to solicit information for easy analysis and action, all without respondents needing to open or access a mobile application.

When needed, geo-poll enables Rave Alert™ to view a recipient’s location alongside their answer without coordination with mobile service providers. Real-time location information, as opposed to static location data, provides invaluable insight as customers utilize the tool for questions like “Are you OK?” or “Do you need help?” to conduct wellness checks during emergencies. The need for organizations to have location data comes as the number of offsite workers has increased 115% in a decade, according to Global Workplace Analytics.

“As a customer already utilizing Rave Alert™, we are looking forward to the addition of geo-polling to increase how we are already reaching our employees,” says Alayna Patterson, Innovation Specialist at Fountain Quail Energy Services. “The ability to connect beyond just the app will certainly benefit not only our staffing call outs and weather notifications, but will also be essential as we reach out to confirm the wellbeing of our employees during emergencies.”

The benefits of geo-polling are particularly useful during situations where business continuity can be difficult. Last year during the tragic events of Hurricane Harvey, safety directors and municipality employees struggled to determine the status of their teams. Fast moving flood waters and 100-mile winds made it essential to confirm the safety of employees throughout the affected areas. Outreach included multiple alerts, the need to manually sort through varied responses, long wait time to receive responses and responses missing vital information to locate employees and know their status. Through geo-polling, these employee wellness checks could benefit from immediate follow-up and location updates when any respondent alerts that they are unsafe.

“At Rave, we recognize that during an emergency the speed and quality of responses can greatly affect employee safety,” says Todd Piett, CEO of Rave Mobile Safety. “We are constantly working to provide our customers with the best solutions and this groundbreaking technology will allow those that are already using Rave Alert™ to solicit more responses and understand the location of their audience like never before.”

From addressing staffing shortages, to completing wellness checks and providing immediate disaster response, there is no shortage of use cases for the geo-poll technology. Learn how you can leverage Rave Alert’s geo-polling.
