In Oklahoma, all 542 school districts will be protected by an "innovative safety app”, the Rave Panic Button. On PBS’ Education Matters With Joy Hofmeister, Norman Public School Superintendent, Dr. Nick Migliorino discusses with Joy how Panic Button app users in Oklahoma will be able to simultaneously contact 9-1-1 operators and school staff with the push of a button during an emergency, utilizing buttons for an active shooter situation, medical crisis, fire, or any other emergency. The state legislature recently expanded funding for the app, which had been protecting students, teachers, and staff at Norman North High School for over a year, empowering all school districts to use the tool to manage safety.
