1. Where did you grow up and how did you end up at Rave Mobile safety?
I grew up just outside of Boston in Lexington, MA. It was an old-fashion recruiter call that I answered. I decided it couldn’t hurt to interview and hear more about the company. I was completely hooked after my first interview and really fell in love with the culture and people.
2. Where do you see opportunities for growth and advancement within Rave?
When I think about this question, I don’t think about it in terms of areas of improvements, but rather how can Rave continue to scale and grow to match the needs of our customers. I think innovation is always a key component of Rave’s success. I think Rave is always forward thinking, and does not shy away from leveraging new technology or thinking outside of the box. There is always a willingness to try something new. In a role that can be very operationally focused, I’m excited at the ways the Finance team can support the growth.
3. What are three words you would use to describe yourself?
Focused, empathetic & resilient.
4. What one word would best describe your leadership style?
Coaching.
5. How do you keep yourself up-to-date with the latest trends in the industry?
I am a member of several different networking groups for Finance leaders. They help me to stay in-tune with new or existing challenges in the industry, as well as being a member of Chief which is an organization for helping to grow and connect women in the workplace which is something that is important to me. I also enjoy listening to a lot of different podcasts.
6. What is your favorite part about working at Rave?
One of my favorite parts are the people. In particular, I have felt very lucky to work with the Finance team at Rave. I am proud of everything the team achieves and feel very lucky to have an amazing group of people working with me to make Rave a success. Secondly, Rave’s purpose. I have worked in tech for my whole career, and while I have worked at some very interesting and innovative companies it was hard sometimes to connect to the products. At Rave, I have felt a sense of purpose and can relate personally to our technology. I see how myself and my team have a direct impact on our customer’s and how we can support them.
7. If you could travel anywhere right now, where would it be?
This feels like an impossible question to answer. One of my passions is traveling and I think just about everywhere in on my list! I am hoping in the near future to do a trip to Austria, Czech Republic & Hungary.
8. What is your favorite book?
Pride & Prejudice. I still remember when my mom gave me the book for the first time and I was hooked. I can always pick up any of Jane Austen’s work and enjoy re-reading them over and over again.
9. Outside of work, what are your favorite things to do?
One of my undergrad degrees was in Museum Studies and I’ve always had a passion for art. I enjoy checking out new exhibits and museums are always on my to-do list when I travel. I also enjoy day hikes and trying new restaurants with friends.
10. Do you have anything else you’d like to share with our blog readers?
One of my other interests is in history. Besides my BBC History Magazine subscription, I can get lost for hours in endless documentaries, and love to visit historical places when I travel. I truly look forward to the time when it’s easy to travel again and we have the opportunity to immerse ourselves in other cultures.
