First-of-its-Kind Program Enables Third Parties to Expand Market Potential

FRAMINGHAM, Mass., February 11, 2013 – Rave Mobile Safety, creators of the national public safety database Smart911, today announced Smart911Connect, the first program connecting third parties holding data relevant to the emergency response process with supported 9-1-1 centers. Call takers and dispatchers within Smart911 connected public safety answering points (PSAPs) across the country can now automatically receive approved sources of data, including text and images, delivered to their workstation in real-time alongside a 9-1-1 call from a variety of different solutions and apps. Smart911Connect also provides call taking and dispatch solution providers with new market potential by allowing rich data to be embedded within products and applications, while eliminating complex sourcing, formatting and validating of these new forms of data.

Smart911 supports PSAPs in 28 states that serve more than 300 municipalities, protecting millions of citizens. With Smart911, citizens create Safety Profiles online that contain details about their household they want 9-1-1 to have during an emergency. When a citizen places a 9-1-1 call, their Safety Profile is displayed to the call taker and data can be immediately relayed to teams in the field, allowing for a better understanding of a situation and more effective emergency response. For instance, fire crews can know such things as how many people live at a home and the location of bedrooms. EMS can know about specific medical conditions for fast, precise medical treatment. And because profiles contain photos, in the event of a missing child, police can gain an advantage by receiving an image in seconds versus hours.
Smart911Connect is a comprehensive program based on the patented Smart911 platform, providing the first open, standards-based programming interfaces for third parties to deliver diverse data sets to 9-1-1 centers. It features an approval process chaired by leading emergency communications professionals, audit trails and logging of all data displayed to telecommunicators, NG9-1-1 and CJIS compliant security, and public-safety-optimized user interface for rendering third party data at a PSAP.
