Tulsa police make Smart911 service available to residents
October 02, 2015
Tulsa residents can now sign up for a free service that provides important information to emergency agencies in the event of a 911 call.
Anyone in Tulsa can go to Smart911.com and create a free safety profile, which makes available to police, fire or emergency medical personnel certain information about members of a household or the home itself.
Information that is valuable to 911 services includes phone numbers, all available addresses, work information, medical conditions, medications, vehicles, pets and emergency contacts.
Details about the household, such as anyone who requires electricity for medical needs, people who need assistance to evacuate their home and shelter needs for people or pets, also can be entered into the safety profile.
People who sign up have the option to list multiple phone numbers and a preferred method of communication.
To create a profile, go to smart911.com and click the “Sign Up” button on the top right corner of the page. From there, fill out the relevant information.
