Colorado State Alert System Boasts 95% Sign-Up Rate
September 04, 2009
Colorado State University (CSU), located in Fort Collins, Colo., is augmenting its current emergency notification system with the Rave Wireless Rave Alert solution that transforms mobile phones into location-aware personal safety devices. The system allows students to have their position monitored by campus police when they feel unsafe.
Students are prompted to opt into the alerting system when they register for classes. After they are registered, students can receive emergency communications via text messages and E-mail. More than 95 percent of the school’s student population has chosen to receive text alerts, far outpacing average enrollment levels nationwide. The solution is compatible with all mobile phone devices and major carriers
