Collier County Launches Smart911 Database To Better Help In An Emergency
June 14, 2012
A new database known as Smart911 is now being used in Collier County. It gives 911 dispatchers access to more information then ever before.
The Naples Police Department and Collier County Sheriff’s Office launched this database together.
The Smart911 database allows you to create a safety profile on it’s website, www.smart911.com. You can enter your personal information on your profile including your family’s medical history, information on medications or information regarding family pets.
If you dial 911 your profile is available to emergency dispatchers and first responders. The profile allows them to better assist you.
“All Collier County residents and city of Naples residents can now enter their personal information into Smart911 database which gives emergency responders advance notice of any types of medications, etc regarding the residents of the house as as they respond to an emergency,” said Lt. John Barkley with the Naples Police Department.
Smart911 is private and secure. Go to www.smart911.com to create your safety profile.
