UAM Becomes Partner With Rave Mobile Safety to Deliver Timely Emergency Communications
The University of Arkansas at Monticello and Rave Mobile Safety have launched a new broadcast alerting service for sending timely information to students, faculty, staff, and other members of the campus community.
Using UAMAlert supplied by Rave Mobile Safety (ravemobilesafety.com), the University can disseminate timely notifications to thousands of users via multiple communication channels, including mobile text alerts, email and recorded voice messages. The system can distribute an alert to the entire campus community in the case of an emergency, or on a targeted basis such as UAM’s technology campuses in Crossett and McGehee.
“Our students today are living an unprecedented mobile lifestyle,” said Jay Hughes, vice chancellor for student affairs. “Rave Alert puts us in the best possible position to send emergency communications to as many people as possible, as quickly as possible, regardless of their location.”
According to Hughes, the only cost to participants is the standard text messaging costs in accordance with their chosen carrier’s calling plan. Participants may log in to the service at http://www.getrave.com/login/uamont.
