Rave 911 Suite launch in Worcester, MA increases state’s covered population by 75% in 2017
FRAMINGHAM, Mass., Aug. 24, 2017- Rave Mobile Safety (Rave), provider of critical communication and data platform solutions trusted to save lives, today announced the launch of the Rave 911 Suite in Worcester, Massachusetts, marking a 75 percent increase in Rave 911 Suite’s population coverage over the last year in Massachusetts. With expansive customer growth in local cities including Natick and Framingham, Rave solutions now protect more than 1 million people in the Bay State.
During an event held yesterday in Worcester, Senator Michael Moore was joined by Mayor Joseph Petty, City Manager Edward M. Augustus, Jr., Director Richard Fiske, and local fire and police officials to make the official announcement of the city’s launch of Rave 911 Suite and Smart911.
“In Worcester and throughout the state of Massachusetts, lives are on the line each day and it’s important that our emergency personnel are armed with the best solutions possible to face these situations safely and efficiently,” said Fiske. “With the help of technologies like Smart911, we can rest assured that we are offering the tools our officials and communities need to improve emergency response times and information sharing capabilities. Lives can truly be saved when we work together, and I’m excited the City of Worcester is adopting this innovative and collaborative technology.”
With the Worcester launch, 27 municipalities in Massachusetts including some of the Commonwealth’s largest communities such as Framingham, Cambridge, and Springfield now utilize the Rave 911 Suite, a comprehensive solution offering 911 text messaging, Smart911®, Rave Facility data, enhanced location data, reporting analytics and more. With Smart911, users can create an online profile that displays to dispatchers when a 9-1-1 call is made. Critical information such as home address, bedroom location, pet information, medical details, notifications for older residents or people with disabilities can all be provided to help reduce response times, improve communication and ultimately help save lives.
Residents are encouraged to create free Safety Profiles on Smart911.com. This is a secure platform to input additional information immediately shared with 9-1-1 dispatchers in the event of an emergency. The ability to share these vital details instantaneously greatly reduces response times and better equips officials responding to the situation.
“The U.S. and countries worldwide are facing adversity and unforeseen acts of violence, creating a growing need for greater safety and security measures. If it hasn’t been a consideration yet, cities and states should look at technology as a powerful tool that can help create safer communities,” said Juliette Kayyem, national security expert, Rave advisory board member, and former U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s assistant secretary for intergovernmental affairs. “With adoption of Rave Mobile Safety’s technology continuing to grow in Massachusetts, government agencies are better equipped, more prepared, and with those resources, can feel confident that they’re ready to handle emergencies when they strike.”
Supporting this growth, Rave delivered more than 500 million emergency notifications in and processed more than 15 percent of 9-1-1 calls demonstrating their ability to foster safer, better prepared neighborhoods by providing local officials and the community with the best resources to help during a crisis.
“While we offer a variety of services to customers, our ultimate mission is to help create safer communities. Through new partnerships with cities like Worcester, we can work together to achieve that goal,” said Tom Axbey, president and CEO of Rave Mobile Safety. “The city of Worcester, Massachusetts recognizes that technology can help create safer cities through enhanced communication and collaboration and we couldn’t be more proud to be a partner on this life-saving journey.”
